Agricultural refund supports are a practice that generally provides for the repayment of taxes deducted from agricultural support payments made to farmers under certain conditions. These supports are designed to alleviate the costs of producers operating in the agricultural sector and to encourage agricultural production.
Main Purpose:
To reduce the financial burden of farmers and support their cash flow.
To ensure sustainability in agricultural production.
To increase the effectiveness of the general agricultural support provided by the state to farmers.
How Does It Work?
Income tax is deducted at certain rates (e.g. 4%) from various payments made by the state to farmers, such as fuel, fertilizer, and livestock support. Thanks to agricultural refund supports, all or part of these withheld taxes are paid back to farmers who meet certain conditions.
Who Benefits and How to Apply?
Farmers who have received agricultural support payments and had tax deductions made on them in the relevant period can benefit from these supports. Applications are generally made online through the Interactive Tax Office (IVD) system of the Revenue Administration (GİB) or by petition to the affiliated tax office. Upon approval and evaluation of the application, the refund amount is transferred to the farmer's bank account.
In addition, there are export refund supports for agricultural products provided by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey. These supports include refunds (refunds) to companies exporting certain agricultural products at varying rates depending on the amount of export and type of product. In this way, the competitiveness of Turkish agricultural products in international markets is increased.
These supports aim to contribute to the overall development of the agricultural sector and to enable farmers to produce more efficiently and sustainably.
