Importation

Importation: refers to the act of bringing goods into the Turkish Customs Territory from other countries or free zones, in accordance with the prevailing import and customs legislation, or any other entry and operations accepted as importation by the Undersecretariat.

Importer: refers to natural persons registered with the customs administration and possessing an identification number for carrying out import operations, or legal entities resident in Turkey and possessing a tax number, as well as partnerships that do not have legal personality but are authorized to carry out legal transactions based on the provisions of the applicable legislation.

Import Process:

  • Conducting overseas research for the products you need and determining their suitability.

  • Examining the supplier's profile and identifying the best in terms of price and quality.

  • Performing a cost analysis and pricing of the product to be delivered to your domestic warehouses, within the framework of current regulations.

  • Identifying risks and developing solutions to ensure that the product to be supplied meets the desired conditions.

  • Preparing contracts considering international standards and including the conditions required by the agreement in these contracts.

  • Ensuring the organization of logistics and customs procedures with our solution partners.

  • Carrying out the importation of the product.

Details of Import-Related Operations:

  • Conducting regulatory studies and cost calculations for the commodities to be purchased.

  • Determining the GTIP (Customs Tariff Statistics Position) codes of the products to be imported.

  • Obtaining incentive certificates.

  • Obtaining pre-authorizations, if any: TSE certification, CE marking, control certificate, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture permits, acquisition of control certificates, and application of exemptions and exceptions.

  • After receiving the import documents, arranging bill of lading endorsements, if any.

  • Obtaining the endorsed bill of lading from the carrier (Ordino).

  • If there is any doubt about the goods before preparing the customs entry declaration, performing an examination.

  • Starting the customs acceptance and registration process and inspecting the goods.

  • If there are deficiencies, damages, or errors, preparing reports and informing the relevant parties.

  • Making accruals and depositing collateral or money.

  • Accurately calculating customs duties, fees, and charges.

  • Making payments to authorized authorities related to the actual import operation, transporting the goods to the customer's desired location, and delivering them to authorized personnel.

  • Closing incentive files if completed and releasing collateral, if any.

  • Ensuring the timely arrival of goods into the country and, when necessary, contacting carriers.

  • Performing operations for Entry into Free Circulation, Transit, Bonded Warehouse, Temporary Importation, Processing Under Customs Control, Inward Processing, and Outward Processing.

  • For temporary imports, verifying the identity of the goods upon entry and ensuring their timely exit in accordance with the obtained authorizations.

  • For returned goods, conducting necessary correspondence between the relevant authorities and the customs administration, applying exemption provisions, and putting the goods into free circulation.

  • Delivering invoices, entry declarations, receipts, and other expenditure documents to the company within the requested timeframe and categorized according to the relevant departments within the company.

  • Providing training to the relevant units of their customers on customs and foreign trade legislation.

  • Informing relevant companies in writing about changes in legislation within one business day.

  • Performing other operations not mentioned above but necessary for the timely and complete completion of import operations.
